Acrobat DC scanning issue

Recently I rebooted my Windows 10 PC and tried to scan a one-page document using my Brother 8850 MFC.  Once the scanning process started, Acrobat started producing black pages, one after another, and would not stop until I killed the program.  I tried the repair function and rebooting seeveral times, but kept on getting the saame result.  When I tried using a different computer using my office version of Acrobat 2017, I did not encounter the problem.  I was also able to scan successfully to Photshop using the WIA setting (the only seeting available).
