Acrobat DC shared reviews archiving no longer working - how to get rid of XML folders safely

We do all of our documentation reviews in shared review PDFs on a central server. In the past, when a project was finished and all commenting was complete, we would open the file and select Save as Archive Copy. This would embed all the comments in the PDF and remove the XML files and folders containing all the comments.

Now it is not working. The shared review PDF does not show the blue bar saying the PDF has been archived and the XML files are not deleted; we are, however, getting a file with _archive appended, but we're not sure it's safe to delete the XML files because we don't know if the comments have really been embedded. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi there - It's 2020 and we are still having this problem. Has anyone found a solution to this?

Hello again - It's 2022 and I am still finding that the archive action does not clean up the XML and other additional artifacts created by the shared review. Has anyone else had this problem?
