Acrobat DC starts, then quits after a couple of seconds

I have just subscribed to Acrobat DC, download and install was painless. I am running Windows 10.

I did not allow the installer to remove my previous version (Acrobat XI).

When I start the program, the start screen shows, but after 10 to 15 seconds it just quits no matter if I try to open a document or if I just let it sit idle and do nothing.

Does someone know how to get the program up and running? I'd appreciate your help very much.

Correct answer vkgns

right click the exe and click 'run as administrator'.

if that fails AND there's no error message, there's something (eg, va) on your computer shutting down acrobat dc.

I managed to geht it running now by uninstalling my previous version of Acrobat. Obviously the old version and DC cannot live on the same computer. Immediately after uninstalling the old version DC began to work, even without reinstalling DC. Ah, well.

Thank you. Unfortunately, this does not work. The App still starts up and closes after a couple of seconds.
