Acrobat DC stops after ten seconds EVERY time

Since I had this program installed (about five months ago) it has not worked a single time. Whatever I do to it, it stops and closes after approx ten seconds. I have had the installation repairing itself several times - no change, it still refuses to work. I have tried anything possible but it still never runs.

Using Windows 10, updated always to latest status.

did not work for me. Could it be that I still have Adobe Acrobat XI on my laptop?

yes.

uninstall both acrobats using the uninstallers after securing both serial numbers

clean both per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

restart your computer

reinstall acrobat dc and activate with your serial numbers. (you'll need both if dc was an upgrade version.)

No, nothing. It just closes itself. For a second or two there is sometimes a small (1-2 mm) clock showing but that is all.

I have tried to find something I could understand in the eventlog of Windows but what I see there does not help me.
