Acrobat DC "There was an error while reading this Stream"

Windows 10 enterprise machine, i7 7th Gen, 16GB RAM, dual nVidia Quadros (12GB each).  All drivers up to date.

Acrobat DC via CC subscription, v 2018.011.20040

Has no problems opening/printing files, but if a file is opened for any length of time (no specific length of time) it will yield a "There was an error while reading this Stream" and portions of the open PDF will go blank.

It appears to only happen to files opened across the network, I had to identical files (but different file names) opened, one network and one off my desktop... the network share file is the one that errored.  We have had our IT look into it and they are not finding anything network/file server related to be causing it.  We did not have this problem prior to having to upgrade to DC.

Correct answer EdwardB-CCSD

The Problem has been narrowed it down to Windows 10 Enterprise and our Network Policy pushes... which happen every 30-90 minutes (theory is that it is causing Win10 to disconnect and reconnect the share folder, severing the file lock).  They removed my machine from the Policy and I haven't had a file "error" in almost 3 weeks..

I'm about a year late to the issue, but we're seeing this issue now with Reader 2019.012.0036, just wondering which network policies you were looking at?

I sent a PM (hopefully? LOL) with a link to a PDF.

Hi Edward,

As per the issue description mentioned above, portion of the pdf goes blank and shows above mentioned error when stays open in Acrobat, is that correct?

Could you try repairing Acrobat using "Repair installation" option under Help menu, reboot the machine after repair and check if that helps.

Does this happen when you open specific pdfs from a network drive or with all the files?

Let us know if you need any help.

Correct, it will often be a random image in a PDF file that is being opened across the network.  Not always the same file(s), and not always affecting every file that is opened across the network. i.e. if I have half a dozen files open, perhaps two of them will randomly throw the error.

I tried "repair installation" very early on with troubleshooting this error.  I have also updated the drivers to my video cards in case it was a video error...  I have considered blowing out the installation and re-installing, but I do have two commercial plugins Enfocus Pitstop and Quite Emposing 4 (both are up to date) and I don't know if it would deactivate their licenses.
