Acrobat DC Trial Destroys Acrobat Pro X

I was offered a free trial of Acrobat DC in my Adobe account.

I have Acrobat Pro X installed. After the trial period I deinstalled DC. The free trial destroyed the ability of Pro X to generate PDF files.

I have no possibility anymore to get the PDF creation function if Acrobat Pro X to work. Deinstalling and re-installing Acrobat Pro X does not help.

I suspect that this is a sales strategy of Adobe.

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

remove Adobe PCD folder and SLStore folders*

after securing your serial number, uninstall acrobat x

if windows, clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall acrobat x** and activate with your serial number

*restore permissions on both folders:  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/configuration-error.html

**Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

Updates

  • Download and installation help for Adobe links

  • Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!
