Acrobat DC trial trashed my XI Pro install and I can't reinstall XI Pro now. Grrrrr.

The creative cloud app told me that there was an update to my Acrobat Professional XI.  Acrobat Professional XI has been running on my PC for years now but I decided to try the "update".

What happened is that it installed Acrobat DC and deleted my Acrobat XI install.  I deleted the DC trial version and then TRIED to reinstall my Acrobat XI.  This is where the problem is....

When I run the Acrobat XI setup program it runs almost all the way through the installation process but, right when it says there are about 4 seconds left, the install "rolls back" and leaves me with no install.

I've tried everything I can think of: Acrobat removal tool, deleting all directories and registry entries, etc.  I am so aggravated now.

Have you'll encountered this problem?  Can anybody help me through it?

This same thing just happened to me.  I've spent hours today trying to fix it.

did you use the uninstaller to remove (not delete) acrobat dc?

if so, did you see any errors during uninstallation?
