acrobat DC will not open pdfs

DC will not open pdf's from downloads - typical is the screenshot attached. 'open' does nothing - been doing this for a month have uninsallted and reinstalled - anyone? ty

Does it work if you open the file directly from Acrobat? If so, the problem is probably with the browser settings, not with Acrobat.

Thanks for the response. If I go to Windows explorer, for instance, find the PDF, double click on it, acrobat does open it

>From the browser... If I click on a PDF link on the web it pulls the file to the documents folder but when I tell it to open it it does nothing

By the way my browser is Microsoft edge
