Question

Acrobat deleted my highlights and comments, and I can't get them back.

In storage, my file reads, "Modified last [Thursday]," yet whenever I open it, it does not reflect how it looked last Thursday. After intensely annotating (with highlights and comments) a court case (not something you can easily parse through w/out reference points), something has erased all my work on two specific files; however, other files I have had no issues with.

I have searched my entire computer for a potential duplicate file that had my edits to no avail. I have tried to access previous versions of the two files to no avail. I have tried to change the display/filter to show comments/highlights to no avail. I think I have lost all my crucial notes and distinct color-coded highlights.

But I have no idea what went wrong. I've used this app for similar purposes for years. I will likely not use this app much further for this purpose--if this is a risk. Please offer advice. I can't find any help.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
