Acrobat Distiller variable file size?

I am printing invoices to PDF from a desktop invoicing application ... the invoices contain basically the same number of characters.. but the PDF size is randomly sometimes 60-70 Kbytes and sometimes 100-110 Kbytes... I am wodering what causes this? the invoicing software or Acrobat Distiller?

The files are compressed and the size used will vary (for example invoice 111 will compress better than invoice 123). Also, I imagine many other details vary like number of characters in the company invoiced. Also, if any font changes are made that's different. Anyway, all sounds normal.

We keep the invoices in database and PDF size does matter...
checked last years invoices and almost all of them were 88KB... and
starting form november the sizes started to increase to 110-120KB...

This year however it is randomly 68-69 or 110... strange... Distiller is
the same..
pdf size changes like weather..
