Acrobat does not show annotations made with Preview on Mac

Using a new M1 max Macbook pro. My workflow includes using PREVIEW on Mac for quick annotations with designers. Sometimes I need to compress the resulting PDF and Acrobat has been doing a great job of this for YEARS. But now, when I open the edited PDF in Acrobat I get Nothing- none of the annotations are visible. Save as to a new file does not help either.

You should not use Preview (aka "the PDF killer") in any serious PDF process.

As its name suggests, Preview is only used to preview PDF files but it does not support all of their features, far from it.

Preview is also used to preview PSD, XLSX, DOCX, etc. files, but it does not support all of their features either.

To all those telling me not to use PREVIEW for annotations - you are missing the point. Acrobat pro it too heavy and slow therefore I need a quick solution. The workflow I described has worked well for YEARS. Unfortunatly once I moved to the new M1 platform it has stopped working- this is either becuase Adobe has not updated their software properly or Apple broke somthing. I am hoppng that Adobe fixes it from their end so that many people like me can continue working like they have for years.
