Acrobat doesn't work with VoiceOver shortcuts on Mac

​@Sun-dried+Brick I lieterally just bought a new MacBook Pro (love the M5 Max!) and one of the apps says I could use is Typeless. As per their page, ‘Speak naturally, and Typeless will turn your words into polished messages, emails, and documents that read like you carefully typed them - in real time.’ 

Maybe, VoiceOver can’t work with Adobe’s latest apps?

Could you please share more details about the issue?

1. Does this occur in all PDFs, including Adobe's own accessibility sample PDFs, or only in specific documents?

2. Are you using the new Acrobat experience or a customized workspace?

3. Can you confirm whether the same behaviour occurs in Acrobat Reader as well as Acrobat Pro?

4. When the issue occurs, does VoiceOver announce that focus has moved to the Document Pane or another Acrobat UI element?

Suggestions:

Since Acrobat is recognizing the document structure during sequential navigation (headings, lists, tables, graphics are announced correctly), the PDF tags themselves appear to be present.

Verify that Acrobat has the required macOS accessibility permissions

• macOS: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility

• Ensure Adobe Acrobat is allowed under Accessibility permissions.

Test with a known accessible PDF

• Open a PDF that is known to contain proper accessibility tags and structure.

• Adobe notes that screen-reader support depends on the accessibility structure contained in the PDF. Accessible PDFs use tags to identify headings, lists, tables, and other structural elements.

Confirm the PDF contains accessibility tags

• In Acrobat, open the PDF and verify that the document contains tags.

• Acrobat's accessibility documentation explains that tagged PDFs provide the structure required for assistive technologies such as screen readers.

If the issue persists, and because the PDF structure appears to be recognised correctly during sequential reading, and because the problem affects multiple tagged PDFs according to your report, this may be a VoiceOver-Acrobat interoperability issue on macOS Tahoe 26.6 rather than a document-tagging issue.

Please share the following information:

1. A short screen recording,

2. Whether the behavior occurs in every tagged PDF,

3. Confirmation that Acrobat has Accessibility permissions enabled.
