We have Acrobat Extension for Edge for showing PDFs. Started noticing a banner at the bottom to make the Acrobat the default app in Chrome. Users are getting confused about the Chrome reference:

How do I turn off this notification? Please help

Thank you for reporting this issue, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused while using our extension. This feature was part of a test intended for Chrome, but due to a technical issue, it was inadvertently enabled on Edge.

To resolve this, please update the extension by restarting your Edge browser or by navigating to the Manage Extensions page (edge://extensions) and clicking on the "Update" option. The test was rolled out to a small group of Chrome users, but it has now been completely turned off for Edge.

Thank you for your understanding,
Gaurav

Thanks for the update. Does the extension gets updated by restarting Edge without any updates to the Acrobat? Generally, our software gets updated by Software Center in a controlled fashion. So, my question any updates needed to be appplied before restarting Edge. TIA

I suspect that is because Edge is actually based on Chromium, the same base that Chrome also uses. You may want to file a bug report: http://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Thanks. That's what I thought as well. Acrobat is cheating on Edge to recommend Chrome LOL
