Acrobat Glitchy Rollovers

Hi All,

I'm in the need for some much needed advice and guidance. I have a client that would like a menu on their pdf that is kind of like a menu on a website. Each button will have a rollover state and link to certain pages within the document. I created the rollovers in InDesign and they more often than not work really well. However, they can often be glitchy, where some buttons will randomly stay in their rollover state colour.

I have the latest versions of acrobat, and the pdf has been exported as an interactive pdf. Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Its annoying how random it is though which makes me think its a software issue. The client has looked at it on their computer and it does the same.

I shall try and upload an example if I can.

You're not alone - rollover states from InDesign can behave unpredictably in interactive PDFs, especially when viewed in Acrobat or Reader. It's often a rendering bug, not something you're doing wrong.

One workaround is to recreate the buttons and rollovers using JavaScript inside Acrobat for better stability. It’s a bit more manual but gives you more control

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated. I'm glad you said that as I thought I was doing something wrong. I shall definitely try the JavaScript approach in Acrobat
