Question

Acrobat is crashing and creating multiple processes, requiring all to be shut down before it reopens.

On multiple different computers I have had the same issue in Acrobat where it has been working fine, and then all of a sudden it won’t open any more. When I check in Task Manager, I can see multiple processes sat. It has happened so many times I have created a .bat file that runs “taskkill /f /im acrobat.exe", which shuts all instances at once.

I have tried on different machines and, after a while, get the same result. I have tried different PDFs. I have also reinstalled Acrobat on one machine, but after a few days the issue occurs again.

Are you confirming it is still a bug?

    Hello @steven_4589

Ive been following these threads. All I have seen is the same reply. “collect the logs”. You have been collecting logs for over a month now. When will we see a fix, or an announcement from Adobe? The 7171 update did not repair the hung session issue.

Is this a confirmation it is still a bug?

I have the same problem and the July update did not fix it. Infact I tried reinstalling Acrobat but CC keeps failing to install! I had to go and manually download the acrobat installer.

The absolute shambles that Adobe is, continues to get worse.
At this point I am cheering on ai to replace me and take my job so that I never have to use an Adobe product again, cancel my Adobe subscription, go outside and become a plumber.

Not only do I pay for a subscription but now I have to take time out of my day to help you fix your bugs too. No thanks. Just pay a developer to fix it.

I’ve been experiencing the same issue for the past few weeks on Windows 10 and 11. Task Manager shows Acrobat running even after I close it, and I can’t open it again without ending all running Acrobat tasks.

This is also happening on multiple computers in our office.  Originally it was only happening on one and I thought it might just be that computer so a couple days ago I uninstalled and reinstalled the app., this helped but only for a couple days as again today it started happening where after opening PDF suddenly it won’t launch and I have to go to task manager to close out multiple processes.

It is now also happening on 2 other computers in our office.
