Acrobat is "opening" files twice and not allowing saving after editing due to "someone else" having the file open.

I have a user that is opening a file (it shows up once on his PC) but is unable to save due to the program claiming that the file is already in use. On a hunch, I checked open files on the Windows server. It showed the same user with the file open twice according to the system, despite only being opened once on his PC. I checked for updates to see if this was a bug that was ironed out but found nothing.

Any ideas on how to fix this? It happens with every PDF he opens, he has to save as every single time.

I suspect the second one might be Windows Explorer previews.

Are you sure they're opening the file directly and not a temporary copy of it or something like that? As far as I know, it's not even technically possible for Acrobat to open the same file twice. If you attempt to do it on purpose it simply displays the already-opened document the second time you do it...

Thanks for the response - And i would agree with you if it werent happening on every single file. It only shows once on the end-users computer. However, If i check open files on the windows admin server I can clearly see 2 open.
