Acrobat - missing text when combining PDFs

Hi, when combining PDFs, text on some pages diappears. Sometimes it's whole words, and sometimes it's random letters. I have the most up to date version of Acrobat (64 bit). Why is this happening? How can it be prevented and is there a workaround?
