Acrobat on macos sonoma quit unexpectedly

I'm running MacOS Sonoma 14.1 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 (Version 2020.005.30524) keeps quitting spontaneously: within minutes of start up. It has also been spontaneously freezing with the spinning wheel of death. I can use other programs on my mac when that happens. I reset my preferences as suggested on other posts and it made no difference. Please help!
