Question

Acrobat opens automatically after opening Chrome

Acrobat keeps automatically launching whenever I open Google Chrome.  This does not seem to be an issue associated with opening automatically when downloading PDFs, since I checked all those settings in both apps.  It happens every time I open Chrome, regardless of the sites visited.  The issue has persisted after several restarts.

The issue seems to have resolved itself after a few days.  It's possible that an automatic update resolved the issue.  It would have been helpful if I had caught it in time to screen record the occurence, but at least it's worked itself out.

Apologies for the inconvience. This issue is fixed in the latest update. Release notes - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/continuous/dccontinuoussep2025sec.html#dccontinuousseptwentytwentyfivesec.

Please do a "Help -> Check for updates" to update to the latest version and let us know if you still see issues.

Can you confirm that Acrobat has been updated to version 25.001.20672 ? You can check the version in the About Box, from "Help -> About Acrobat". If you are on an older version, you can download the update manually from AcrobatDCx64Upd2500120672.msp. Once you download it just double click on it and follow the steps to install the latest patch.

Thank you for reaching out and reporting this. We are sorry about the trouble caused.

Could you please share the screen recording of the issue occurring on your end? Please confirm if you are using the latest version of Acrobat. Share the current Acrobat and OS version on the machine.

Please collect logs for the issue using the diagnostic tool and share the log ID.

Thanks,
