Acrobat Pro 2017 PDF shows characters in text boxes as 1's

2 people using Acrobat Pro 2017 to edit PDFs with text boxes have this intermittent issue:

  1.   Edit the PDF by adding text boxes and inserting comments.
  2.   Save the file.
  3.   Re-open the file to see the text box has 1's in it but no text.

Thank you for reaching out.

 

This seems to be a weird behavior. Please confirm if this happens to particular files or any PDF file you annotate.

Try to create a new sample PDF and add a text box. Check if you get the same results.

 

Please share the Acrobat version number along with the OS on the machine.

It would be helpful if you could share the PDF and screen recording of the complete workflow.

It will help us to replicate the behavior at our end.
