Question

Acrobat Pro 2020 activated but Acrobat Pro 2020 Distiller is not

Hi,

I have Acrobat pro 2020 installed and activated but I cannot right click files and "combine to pdf" because a message pops up that says my product is not activated.

I narrowed it down to Distiller being the problem.    When I try to run Distiller I get the message saying it's not activated and it shuts down.   Acrobat Pro itself works fine.  I would ignore it but I use the right click "combine files" a lot.

Things I've tried:

repair install

uninstall/reinstall

disable acrotray

I've search for hours for a solution and nothing seems to work.

Hi Rob A

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to combine PDF from the right click context menu and getting the error 'Product not activated'

Would you mind sharing the screenshot of the error message for a better understanding?

Also you may try the steps suggested in the correct answer marked in an old discussion here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/combine-pdfs-still-cant-right-click-and-bring-up-quot-combine-pdfs-quot-option/m-p/4268395 and see if that works for you.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Hi Amal,

Please see attached image.

Also,  I've tried everything on the page you linked.

I tried regsvr32 command but had to change Acrobat 10.0 needed to "Acrobat 2020". Still did not work.

if I try to run distiller 2020 from the Start menu, I get the same message and distiller just closes when I click "ok"
