Question

Acrobat Pro (CS4) on MacOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Hi,

I bought the Creative Suite 4 Design Premium a few years ago. Now, with my new Macbook Pro running MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 the Acrobat Professional doesn't work any more. It asks for a Serial Number, but when I type the number, it's not accepted.
The other products (InDesign, Photoshop etc) work fine, just Acrobat Pro doesn't.

Did anybody else have this problem before?

Thanks for your help in advance,
Petra

Thank you Karl, for your answer.

When I go to my account, it says that there are no products registered. I tried to register with my serial, than it said the product is registered already. Sure, I registered before, but maybe under an older email address? Don’t know how to find out.

Later I managed to it the customer chat (which didn’t work yesterday), but it was the most frustrating thing ever! The person just kept asking for my email account which I used to register. I provided all I could remember I used to have over the last couple years, but she said it didn’t match and without the right account she cannot help me. The whole process took three hours, because it took forever for her to answer. I provided serial number, I provided a photo of the bill I paid, I can provide everything. I bought a product and it is not working.

Now, my problem ist still not solved and I am even more frustrated.

I've been there, I know how frustrating having to deal with customer support can be. All I can recommend at this point is to contact them again and hope that you will get to chat with somebody who is more helpful. Do you still have the box and the disks you originally bought? If so, check the Acrobat disk and see if you can find a different license key.

If I remember correctly Adobe CS4 came with Acrobat 9 - even if you get it to accept your serial number, it will not work correctly on macOS Sierra.

You need to use the serial number for Acrobat, not your CS4 serial number to install Acrobat 9. If you don't have access to that anymore, and if you registered the software with Adobe, you should be able to retrieve the correct serial number from your Adobe account: Adobe ID

If that's not possible, you will have to get in touch with Adobe's customer support. Even though support for this product has ended a long time ago, you still can get help with licensing issues: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html (don't use any of the "Forum" options, otherwise you will end up here again)
