Acrobat pro DC does not print (Not responding)

In my company, probably more than 50000 computers using Windows, Office and Adobe products by default.  However, because of security issues, we are lagging one or two versions behind on all products which probably is good because of this "new" very annoying problem not being able to print at all from Acrobat anymore on my private computer.

After having check various forums, I see that this problem is not new but it seems that no solution has been found yet.  I've tried most of the bug fixes proposed without success.  I fail to understand why such a basic problem cannot be fixed.

I have the following system:

  • Dell XPS 15 9550
  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU@2.6 GHz
  • 1 TB SDD / 16.0 GB RAM
  • Windows 19 Pro, Version 1703, OS Build 15063.608
  • 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

215 Release (Classic) Version 2015.006.30355

Privately, I have only one printer, i.e. a Dell39C085 (ES525W)

Now, when printing, Acrobat DC freezes (not responding) for any file.  The only way to get out is to "kill" the application.

Is there bug fix that will work for this problem?

I have no problem with printing on any of my Windows 10 computers on HP and Canon printers.

FIrst, please make sure that all printer drivers and the Acrobat software is up to date. Acrobat Pro is currently at version 2017.009.20058 on my Windows 7 computer at work.

Then: It would be of interest to be able to check printing on a second device. I suppose that you have a Microsoft XPS Document Writer printer, which is a virtual printer creating like the Adobe PDF printer a file document instead of a paper document. To start with, this should be OK.
