Hi,

I have a user who has Acrobat Pro XI on his PC. At some point he presumably was trying to download the Reader DC and got the automeatic redirrection to the free trial of Acrobat Pro DC. Once the free trial period finished, he noticed that he couldn't edit PDFs any more. So I've looked at the mchine and uninstalled the DC product but now XI needs to be activated again and the serial number isn't being acceptd ; the response I've had from Adobe support is that the serial number has been cancelled. How do I get this reinstated ?

properly uninstall your acrobat xi.

then clean your computer of everything cc:

uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall acrobat xi using the original installation files and activate with your serial number.
