Question

Acrobat Pro DC not allowing me to define specific areas on a pdf as images.

I'm working on making some infographics accessible. Most of these graphics have been saved as JPGs, so I saved them as PDFs and have been using the Accessibility tool, especially the Reading Order tool, to define areas of text as headers/paragraphs, etc. This has worked really well so far.

However, one of the infographics that I'm fixing is recognizing text just fine, but is defining ALL of the images as one large image, rather than multiple images. I can't seem to find a way to mark specific areas of the pdf as individual images so I can put alt-text on each one. Is there no way to do this?

I am really new to making accessible assets, so I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you!

Hi Ameliaannis,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As I understand, you are saying that when you organizing the PDF, it defines all the images as one single image on the PDF. Am I right?

It generally depends on how the PDF was created.

Could you please share the exact steps you used to create this PDF?

Also, if possible can you share the PDF that you have created? You may share the files either in the here in the forum reply or in a private message.

Here are the steps How Do I Send Private Message to initiate a private message.

You may send the file using the steps mentioned here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud.

We would like to check the file on our end.

If the issue is already resolved, please update the thread.

We will wait for your response.

Regards,

Meenakshi
