Acrobat Pro dissappears and Acrobat Reader re-appears

I use Acrobat Pro for editing and creating forms on a semi-regular basis. Randomly sometimes, Acrobat Reader opens and Acrobat Pro is nowhere to be found on my laptop. Whyyyyyyyy does this happen??? Because of my company's sercurity messures, I have to get I.T. to uninstall Reader so I can try installing Pro again. (Since when I try to install Acrobat, it says "Installation failed".) But how do I keep Pro from dissappearing in the first place??

Maybe your IT is involved in that. Do you have the 64 bits Acrobat or the32 bits Acrobat? The 64 bits Acrobat does not tolerate the Reader installation in parallel.

Sorry, I forgot to reply. The Acrobat Reader that keeps appearing is 32bit. After having IT uninstall reader, I was able to re-install the latest version of Acrobat (Pro). How Pro was replaced with Reader in the first place, I do not know. I wouldn't think my company's scheduled security/system updates would include anything to do with Acrobat, but who knows.
