Acrobat pro nonstop issues

I hate this platform with a deep deep passion. I used to love all other adobe products and was a paid subscriber. When I started a 3-year project that required Acrobat Pro, I switched to that. It takes forever to use functions that do not work, work arounds, and as of the moment, simple FG highlighting is highlighting my entire document all of a sudden. I did nothing different. I’ve closed out, I’ve spent way too long searching the internet for a soluitation. I FG HATE ACROBAT PRO. Yes, I have all updates. Yes, my subscription is paid. Yes, I’ve downloaded the right app. However, If you go to Help and ask Is this Pro? It does not know. So frustrating that I will be leaving all adobe when this thing is over.

@bellacosper  highlighting my entire document all of a sudden? Obviously, it worked fine until it didn’t. could it be that you accidentally turned something on? I have been using Adobe products and with Acrobat Pro since 1998. No issues either for work or personal projects.

In your case, you could simply reset your Acrobat Preferences. Sometimes, apps get a little ‘coo-coo’  so, I just reset the preferences:

I am on a MAC, so it’s a little easier. I close all the apps. I go to Hard Drive - Library - Preferences - and locate that acrobat plist. Sometimes, I may select ‘All’ (You could create a folder and throw it all inside and move that to the desktop just in case); but it would be unnecessary. Then I restart my computer, and re-launch the app, and because we relaunch the computer, it will automatically create new preferences, and when Acrobat is relaunch it, it will also be re-created too. I literally had to do this after my battery was replaced in my MacBook Pro, the preferences was 117 GB and now it’s 384kb!

There are certain settings that you can go through in the preferences such as Accessibility and General and go through each one, but if ‘highlighting was fine’ from the past, you accidentally hit it for it to select all to highlight.

If you have the new acrobat interface on, it should be able to tell by clicking on the name:

or in the classic view, at the top center (also, if I click on the name too!)
