Acrobat Pro Not Installing

Hi,

I've been trying to download the acrobat Pro free 7 day trial today.  It gets to 75% and then a box pops up saying 'Epson Scan cannot be started. Please use the Troubleshooting Assistant to solve the problem. Do you want to open the Troubleshooting Assistant?'.  If I select yes it brings me to an Epson trouble shooting tool which I follow but it doesn't help.  If I select no it brings up a 'Copy Utility box where I can select the scanner and printer.  So I select the scanner and it throws up the original 'Epson Scan cannot be started...' box.   I'm on a frustrating moronic loop and am now starting to feel a bit loopy myself!

If I close the 'Copy Utility' box it shuts down the installation.  If I do nothing then the installation continues but when it gets to 100% nothing happens, the installation box stays on the screen saying 100% but it's not installed.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Epson Scan and I've updated the drivers etc...  For years I've only been able to initiate the Epson Scan box through the printers menu screen which then throws it up onto my computer screen but I can't open it from my computer through the start menu. 

If I buy the monthly subscription am I going to have the same problems?  I was soooooooooooo busting to get playing on the program and see if it's what I need but I've been sitting watching slow installation graphics all day and am on the verge of giving up.

Any help would be awesome!
