Acrobat Pro User Interface - How to customize home screen ?

We have upgraded from Acrobat X to Acrobat Pro 2020. Even though functionalities remain strong, the user interface has become weak, rather rigid, not really user-friendly, filled with useless options/information showing e.g. Document Cloud, Sign In (tough already signed in), Add an Account (should be showing on a right click), Useless horizontal bar with Home and Tools (with a Preview of Tools below) etc. As a 2023 user, one would expect to click once in order to open Acrobat Pro, then click a second time to pick the preferred tool (that we would have prior selected, sorted and pinned to home screen), e.g. Scan from X device, with Y settings : meaning 2 clicks in total to get the job done. This would be value added.

Any chance anyone did find a simple way?

Hi @gwo1000

Modern Viewer Introducing a simpler and more intuitive experience for Acrobat desktop, making it easier for you to view content and perform your everyday actions on the PDF.

A unified global bar for ease of access and improved document visibility.

To know more about the New User interface, please refer to this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/new-acrobat-experience.html

Thanks,

Hello Ankachha,

The Modern Viewer seems an interesting feature.

On which version of Acrobat is this available?

Any possibility to create a pdf from a scan in 2 clicks and save it to Cloud e.g. OneDrive/Dropbox/etc.?

It's introduced in the 2023 version. Believe it or not, it's even worse than the childish 2020 UI. See this user voice and judge by youself. For me Acrobat XI is good enough even though seriously outdated.

I find interesting in the new interface to use the Tools tab to 'search' for the correct one more directly than several drill-down clicks, with the option to 'Add' it to my interface.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your input.

The Search field is definitly a plus. We find it in several complex ERP.

However in Acrobat, users execute about 80% of the time 20% of the functionalities.

It is very important to carry out the recurrent tasks in a minimum clicks. e.g. scan to pdf, open Acrobat and 1 click. This can be achieved, ideally through easy UI customization.

For the other 80% of the functionalities used 20% of the time, the Search bar is a clear added value.
