Question

Acrobat Pro won't open after "validating" Distiller opens. I've uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat and I've used the AcroCleaner to remove Acrobat & reinstall. It still won't open. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Hi @creativeGEE,

Thank you for reaching out, and we understand how frustrating this must be, especially since you've already tried a full uninstall/reinstall and even run the AcroCleaner tool without any luck.

From what you're describing, Acrobat Pro gets stuck at a "validating" stage, and then Distiller opens instead of the main app launching on your MacBook Pro (M2, Ventura 13.2.1).

    Here's what to try next:

    1. This can happen during Acrobat's license/activation check. Open Acrobat Distiller directly and see if it prompts you to sign in. If it does, sign in with your Adobe ID, then relaunch Acrobat. If Distiller instead shows an error like "Unable to reach Adobe Servers," "Can't verify subscription status," or "Something went wrong," that points to an activation issue, and you can follow the steps here to resolve it: https://adobe.ly/4cDeroT

    2. If that doesn't resolve it, there are a couple of additional cleanup steps beyond AcroCleaner and reinstalling. After running the cleaner tool, also manually delete any remaining Adobe folders from /Library/Application Support and ~/Library/Application Support, and any Adobe preferences from /Library/Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences. Restart your Mac before reinstalling Acrobat, then sign in again once it's installed.

    3. If Acrobat still won't open, try creating a new user account on your Mac and launching Acrobat from that profile. If it opens there, the issue may be related to your specific user profile rather than the app itself.

Please let us know how it goes. We're happy to help further.
