I tried to set the viewing preferences in Adobe Pro XI and discovered that none of the two-up viewing options work. Anyone else with this issue?

Viewing preferences are a default and can be overridden by settings in a document. See under File > Properties > Open options for documen settings.

Thanks for your response. I have tried several of these settings: Two-up (facing); Two-up continuous (facing); Two-up (cover page) and Two-up continuous (cover page), and none of these options work. Do you think it might be because Acrobat Reader DC which is installed on the laptop since it is a corporate laptop and I can't change that, is overiding these options? I ask this because the version of Acrobart Pro XI I have on my home computer does not have these options disabled and it works fine.

No, nothing to do with being a corporate desktop. As I said, a document can override these settings, and that's the first thing to check. Did you look under File > Properties > Open Options for one of these files?
