Acrobat Reader bundled with McAfee

Hello Adobe, we are now aware that it is possible to download Adobe Acrobat Reader without installing McAfee however we didn't realise when we downloaded Acrobat Reader that we need to opt-out of having McAfee downloaded as well. Our question is - is it sufficient that we uninstall McAfee and continue to use Acrobat Reader or do we have to uninstall Acrobat Reader and start over, installing the single version of Acrobat Reader only? We would like to know whether there are any interdependencies between the bundled version of Acrobat Reader and McAfee compared to the single Acrobat Reader version. Please advise. Thank you.

@Tiff_4308 honstly, you should be able to simply uninstall McAfee and continue using Acrobat Reader with no issues as these two are not dependent on each other!

@creative explorer Thanks for confirming. I've read a lot about this problem and some suggest that you need to completely uninstall everything from the bundled download and start again with just Acrobat Reader but given the programs are not related, surely (as you say) you can just uninstall McAfee and continue using Adobe. I've also read that the bundled download with McAfee installs a Chrome extension but we checked Chrome and it's not appearing there. We don't want the extension so that's fine but just wondering why others were talking about it?

@Tiff_4308 if you are so leery on this, go ahead and uninstall everything 😁; And just pay attention when you re-install Reader again and DO NOT install McAfee a second time! Or, you be back to square 1 again!
