Acrobat Reader DC's features slow my PC. I need a less powerful version. Which one do I pick?

I don't need the cloud. For me, standalone computing is great. I tried fixing my unresponsive Acrobat Reader DC, but that failed. So when I uninstalled completely and tried to reinstall, Adobe 's website began installing the Creative Cloud on my Windows 8.1 PC!  I don't need or want all those features. Even before this problem, Acrobat Reader DC was crashing often at night or when I restarted my PC the next morning. The amount of features that were in the product a few years ago were fine. Which versions of Acrobat Reader gives me that, and will allow me to edit all the comments I've saved over the past few years? Thank you

Correct answer Test Screen Name

Thanks for the vote of confidence. You asked about Acrobat Reader, and I answered about Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Standard is a paid-for product, and people often get upset if we "push" the paid product over the free product. Adobe on the other hand will be delighted. It's also, of course, everything Reader does and a whole lot more.

There is no other version in current use.

Test Screen Name's answer is incorrect or misleading.  Adobe's website lists Acrobat Standard 2017 and Acrobat Standard 2020, and there may be a way to install a static version of Acrobat Reader DC. However, I have not found a side-by-side of features of these versions of Acrobat Reader, which Adobe's website often features.
