Acrobat Reader is still reported as Acrobat. They are different products.

When reviewing software installed on our company computers, there appears to be no difference between Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat.  

Because Adobe has decided to not distinguish between the two and software inventory is critical, I will be removing ALL Adobe software and find alternatives.

Once Adobe stops being ambiguous we will consider returning to Adobe.

 

Computer with Reader ONLY: 

Adobe Acrobat (64-bit)

Computer with Acrobat:

Adobe Acrobat (64-bit)

Can you tell the difference?  I can't.

While the application is the same for all variants, you can tell which user has what via the registry. See the documentation at the link below.

They are the same application now. If you have a valid subscription it behaves like Acrobat. If you don't, it behaves like Reader.
