Question

Acrobat says You need to be connected to the Internet & signed in to Acrobat to use this feature

When I try to generate a pdf of a document I'm working on in Word by clicking on "Create PDF and share link", it usually works by launching Adobe Acrobat Pro & generates a pdf that I can share. However, recently Adobe Acrobat has started displaying this message more & more:

"You need to be connected to the Internet and signed in to Acrobat to use this feature. Please check and retry"

Now it's got to the point that it only ever shows this message & I can never create a pdf!

FYI the internet is working fine & I am signed in to our Creative Cloud account.

Does anyone know what's causing this & I resolve this issue?

Thanks

As a workaround, choose "Create PDF" in the Acrobat tab of the Ribbon in Word, then make sharing a the link or sending the PDF as a separate step. As usual, look in Preferences in the Ribbon before creating the PDF.

Is this a new issue? If so, did it start with a recent update? Staff is on this forum and may have other insight.

This is very minor, but the X in OSX stands for 10. The last version of OSX was 10.15. Sonoma is macOS 14.

Thanks Jane but I still get that same message when using the "Create PDF" in the Acrobat tab?

Any further ideas?

It's been happening for a fair few months now

Thanks for the correction on the OS!

@nigel_random

Let's see if Adobe staff chimes in. If not, they can be tagged.

We had a very long run with 15 versions of OSX, so we got used to it. 😊 Now it goes up a number every year.
