Question

Acrobat Search Returning Multiple Instances of the Result

HI,

I have a PDF of a floor plan and I need to find and count the number of instances that the letters GCFI occur on the file. When I run a search of the term (I have the same issue with other words as well) the search says that there are way too few options. (ex: 16 results when I know there are at lease 40). Then when I press the next button to show the location, it has 2 or more instances of the word highligted. It is as if it thinks that the different instanced of GFCI are actualy 1 instance. Can ypu please help me resolve this.

There's no easy way to solve this. It would be the result of an incorrect process of generating the PDF file.

One way you can try is to re-create the file, for example by exporting all pages to high-quality images, then combine those images to a new file and run Text Recognition on it, before searching it again.
