Acrobat Standard, not Acrobat Pro Continues to be Installed

After uninstalling multiple times and reinstalling, Acrobat Standard continues to be installed and not Acrobat Pro, which is what my subscription is for. It was fine for six months until I had to reinstall Acrobat. I'm using the correct login details and I've previously used the cleanup tool to wipe my computer clean of the previous install.

Hi Qantas22590038w9pt, it seems like leftover files from Acrobat Standard are still causing issues. Even after using the cleanup tool, some hidden files or registry entries might remain. Try manually removing any leftover folders in Program Files and AppData before reinstalling Acrobat Pro, and make sure you’re signed in with the correct Adobe ID linked to your subscription.

Hi Qantas22590038w9pt, it sounds like your system is still picking up leftover files from the previous Acrobat Standard installation. Even after using the cleanup tool, sometimes registry entries or hidden files can cause this issue. I recommend fully uninstalling Acrobat again, then manually checking for leftover folders in Program Files and AppData, and removing them before reinstalling Acrobat Pro. Also, make sure you’re signing in with the same Adobe ID linked to your Pro subscription—sometimes the installer defaults to Standard if it detects past installations tied to that ID. Hopefully, this helps get Acrobat Pro installed correctly!

Hi Qantas22590038w9pt,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Please try reinstalling Acrobat using the steps suggested below:

-Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://adobe.ly/4mDwSwo).
-Reboot the machine
-Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: https://adobe.ly/3HsANgr.

Once done, launch the application and go to Menu > Help > About Adobe Acrobat. Share the screenshot of the pop-up window that appears to confirm the version installed.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi,

Thanks for the reply. I followed your instructions and below is the screenshot of the About Adobe Acrobat pop-up window. Acrobat Standard was installed again, and not Pro. Any help you could give me would be great.

Hi @Qantas22590038w9pt,

Thanks for the response.

With the recent releases, Acrobat has moved to a unified naming system, where the application name does not have any differentiating specifics.

To confirm if the application version you have installed is Acrobat Pro or Standard, you can launch Acrobat > open any document > go to All Tools > click See More > scroll down > and you should be able to see your entitlement.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Souvik.
