Acrobat text disappeared on mac

hey,

I'm trying to marker some lines in a pdf text using the acrobat.

wanted to save this file so I clicked ont the cmd+S, and then the text go invisible and i cannot use the cmd+Z in order to undo it. 

its ASAP because its a huge article that i need for my university studies.

please help me.

 

the macOS version is catalina, 10.15.3

This has happened to me to twice today and as a result lost a lot of work...Having trouble finding either a solution or at least a preventative measure to ensure it does not happen again...

    This is my exact situation as well. I have downloaded a pdf from a school's website, edited the pdf (highlighting and commenting), and then all of the sudden when I tried to save it the actual text on the pdf disappeared, but the highlights and comments stayed. So now my paper is blank with random highlights on it
