Hi Team,

In our environment, we encountered an issue while updating Adobe Acrobat DC to version 25.001.2047x (Optional Update, Apr 28, 2025). The update fails on certain macOS machines.

We analyzed a few sample machines and observed the following (note: this may not cover all possible base versions):

Successful Updates (Sample):

  • 25.001.20438

  • 25.001.20467

  • 24.004.20272

Failed Updates (Sample):

  • 24.005.20400

  • 24.005.20320

We primarily used the Terminal for the installation. On machines where the update failed, we also attempted installation via the standalone installer, but that too was unsuccessful.

While using the installer, it prompted us to select the Adobe Acrobat application. However, even though the app was visible in Finder, it was not selectable, which resulted in the installation failing.
Additionally, we attempted the troubleshooting steps suggested for error code 105 , but the issue still persists.
We’ve attached some sample logs and screenshots for your reference.

Looking forward to your quick assistance.
Thank you.

Here’s another error, I encountered this while using Migration Assistent from MacBook Pro M4 to M5, log out of Adobe/ Sign out and delete if you want, Migration Assistent is not a very smart program, they will just copy over any bad code or error or broken Adobe files and Adobe will not work on the M5.  I called AppleCare Support 7 times, they could not figure it out, I am no computer expert  at all, I just deleted the set up on the M5 and start over again the Migration Assistent with the Adobe signed out in Creative Cloud. The Adobe Unistaller crashed on the M5 so don’t go that route, keep it simple and just start over again setting up your new computer with Adobe signed out on the old computer.  Error code 20400, you can try calling AppleSupport, but they were no help at all and wasted my time.

I tried calling AppleCare, logged 7 tickets for support, no joy.  I figured it out, you need to close and log out of all Adobe apps, before using Migration Assistent , if you don’t, you have to delete the OS on the new machine and start over again to prevent the corrupt programming from transferring. Adobe still needs a lot of new programming to prevent events like this in the future.

Hi S.Vivekanantha Rajeswaran,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Please let us know if you get any error message when trying to update using the standalone version. Once the application is installed to the latest version, try installing the optional update manually from this page: https://adobe.ly/4mBwtez

Please confirm if you have already tried the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/3HtDspG. If not, please try.

If the above suggestion does not help, please share the Mac OS version on the machine. We might need logs to investigate the behavior further. Thank you for sharing the log trace in advance.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
