Hi,  I purchased Creative suite in 2014 and with that I believe Acrobat Pro was part of the package.  I have just purchased a new computer and downloaded the suite from my account but don't have Acrobat Pro-  I have a copy on my backup is there any way to install my backed up version?

I had Acrobat 9 Professional installed but this was removed at the advise of the Adobe support person it

was running on macOS Sierra 10.12.6. I uninstalled and reinstalled then tried to reopen the program but

I only see the acrobat splash screen and the name acrobat in the top left corner of my laptop.

acrobat 9 isn't compatible with sierra so problems are expected.

you need an older compatible os, or a newer compatible acrobat.

Could you tell me why acrobat 9 is no longer compatible under Sierra it was an understanding that all CS6 applications

would be supported from adobe for the foreseeable future so that is no longer the case for users like myself.

Hi,

Ive just spent over an hour with support to try and get Acrobat Pro running as the software has two days trial left.

I have a CS6 serial but the system software will not recognize this I am running macOS Sierra 10.12.6 on a MacBook Pro

any advise or help available as I was referred to this forum for some answers.

Kind Regards

serial number recognition isn't related to your os (other than a win serial number won't be valid on a mac os and vice-versa).

what exactly do you see after entering your serial number?

So should this be part of the creative suite and therefore the same serial number? Or a different one?

it depends.

if your suite included acrobat in the suite's installation file, use the suite installation file and your suite serial number.

if your acrobat came on a separate cd with its own serial number, use the acrobat x installation file

Ok,  is there anyway to find out the serial number from my backup?  I thought I downloaded it originally as part of the creative suite package

no.

you'll need to use the installation file(s)* and you'll need your serial number**.

* Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

Updates

  • Download and installation help for Adobe links

  • Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!

** you have 3 ways to recover a serial number that you once had:

1. if you purchased from or registered with adobe (automatically done with cs6):,

    a. you can check your account, https://accounts.adobe.com

    b. you can check with adobe support* (be prepared to give the email address used when registering purchasing)

2. if your adobe program is installed on another computer you can recover its serial number from that computer, (win:) http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html, (mac:)  https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

3. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html
