Acrobat X pro will not update in Acrobat DC,

you can only update minor versions. ie, acrobat x can be updated to the last acrobat x update, and that's free.

it costs money to upgrade when you change major versions. ie, acrobat dc is a new major version of acrobat x and acrobat xi, and that costs money.
