Question

Activation limit prevents use of free Reader app: contradiction?

Greetings, Community.

I stumbled upon this "logical fallacy" just yesterday. I'm a  happy Creative Cloud "All Apps" plan user. I happen to use several different computers for my work and the paid apps are currently installed on two, so I reached the limit of activation. Fine, no problem with that... BUT! As far as I know, Adobe Reader is a free app for everyone and I need nothing more than that: open a PDF file in Adobe Reader on the computers I don't have Creative Cloud installed on. Unfortunately I installed Adobe Reader free app on a third computer and as soon as I logged in with my main Adobe Account, the subscriber version of myself kicked in and forced me to deactivate one of the other PCs. Now I'm stuck... I simply can't use Adobe Reader, a free app for everyone, 'cause I'm paying for the whole suite. Anyone knows how to get out of this loop? Thanks in advance to everyone.

I think you can elevate Reader's features to the full Acrobat by logging in with your Adobe ID. I would create a second Adobe ID that is not connected to your CC subscription and use that for the Reader-only installations.
