Question

add text comment cursor says "click to type"

We uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Pro today, and now when we go to Add a text comment the cursor says "click to type" and you can't see well enough to place the cursor where you need it. How do we turn this off? We are not using the new acrobat, our security enhancements are off, and it's not protected. It is up to date too. This is maddening. Everyday there is something new with Adobe.

Hi there,

May I ask a few quetions to check if this is a file or Acrobat application related issue:

 1. Is this happening on a single pdf or on multiple file's ?
2. Have you created or downloaded this file, As if it's downloaded then the field's for commenting could have been already defined.

The Following steps can be taken to fix the issue:
1.If this is a file related issue then you can try removing any layers in the file by using the following article:
Remove Layer in PDF FIles.

2. If the Icon was available before and after update it has disapeared then you can try downgrading the Acrobat application by following the steps in the below link as the new version might be creating the issue :

Downgrade Acrobat reader

If the issue does not resolve please let us know I will be happy to help

Same issue after reinstalling the Acrobat. Did you find the solution? This thing drives me crazy. What is the point to put "click to type" in a smallest possible font instead of a proper cursor?
