Question

Adding a reading order (for accessibility) to a secure pdf?

Hello all, hope everyone is well.

Apologies if this seems like a daft question..... but is it possible to add a reading order (for accessibility / screen readers) to a secure pdf.

I've tried adding the reading order THEN generating a secure pdf, this results in adding the security settings but stripping out the reading order.

If I create the secure pdf first and THEN try and add the reading order, the options for reading order are ghosted out and not active.

Basically, I have a client who ideally wants secure pdfs but also wants a specific reading order (due to tables and columns) for screen readers.

Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely no, as the security policy would prevent such changes to the file. This is something that should be done before security is applied.

Hi, thanks for your feedback.

I've tried this route as well, but unfortunately, when i generate the secre pdf using the required security settings... it removes all the reading order I've previously set up?

I'm wondering if there's a specific way it's meant to be done?
