Adding a tick mark to a dropdown list

This may have been asked, if so I apologize.

I am trying to create a drop down list where a tick mark is an option. 

The options looks like:

Below Ground Defects
C = cull tree (roots)
D = debris in hole 
J = “J” or “U” rooted
L = “L” rooted
T = twisted or balled roots
X = leaning 

✔= No Defects

To take it one step further, is there a way that the tick mark can be counted as 1 of the total with "No Defects"
