Adding Opacity to Watermark Causes Color to Disappear

This week, my Acrobat Pro DC (2017.012.20098) program has started recoloring my documents when adding a watermark.  As soon as I add opacity to any watermark the whole document is translated from color to greyscale.  Doesn't seem to matter what color I set the watermark to.

I've checked my preferences and I have ACCESSIBILITY->Replace Document Colors unchecked.  Any idea where else to look?

MacOS 10.13.2

Odd, but try setting it to DeviceRGB, it might fix the problem.  But it's not one I've seen before.

Take a look in the Flattener Preview tool. What does it say for “blend space”?

I have a "Page Level Transparency Blending Color Space" area where the "Color Space" setting is set to NONE.
