Adobe 8 standard activation

I have adobe 8 standard, which adobe no longer supports. That's fine. I don't have a problem with it. But now, when I try to use it, it tells me I need to activate it and shuts down. When I tried to activate it over the internet, it says it can't detect an internet connection. (I'm connected to the internet, as you can see.) When I try to activate by phone I get a message that adobe no longer supports phone activation. (God! I HATE adobe!!!!) Can you help me continue to use an adobe product I've bought, paid for, and used for years?

after securing your serial number uninstall your acrobat 8 (using the uninstaller)

clean per http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

remove the cache.db file from Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/

restart your computer

follow the steps here to install cs3, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/activation-fails-cs3-acrobat-8.html

if that fails read this, https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2385900

I did uninstall and install according to your links above, but every time I open the program I get the pop-up that "we were unable to connect to Adobe to register your product", etc. I choose "never register", but it still comes up every time.

I thought I had installed successfully not long ago, but when I tried to open today, I had to go through the whole process again. (I saved the serial number from last time.) It should have installed last time because it worked to create new pdf from scanner then. We'll see if it stays put this time.

I, too, am fed up with technology! It steals a horrendous amount of my time.

registering is not possible (and not necessary).

p.s. you're probably having trouble because you're using an incompatible (ie, newer) os that was designed to run acrobat 8.
