Adobe Acrobat 2020 compressed files are larger than original.

Hello,

I have a user running Adobe Acrobat 2020 ver 20.004.30015. When they compress a PDF the compressed file size is larger than the original. This started after an Adobe update 9/16/2021. Does anyone know how or where do I go to get that file to compress smaller and not larger?

Could you please let us know if the issue occurs with a particular PDF or with any PDF you try to compress?

Would you mind sahring the sample PDF and its compressed version with us?

Share the Acrobat and OS version currently in use.

Try once to compress the PDF on Acrobat online account. Open this link: and sign in with your Adobe ID.

Then go to Convert > Compress PDF.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello Meenakshi,

The issue occurs with all PDF's. Unfortunately due to the sensitive content in the documents, I am unable to share the sample. User is on Windows 10 (64Bit) 20H2 Build 10.0.19042.985. Due to the sensitive nature of the files we may not be able to compress them online.
