Question

Adobe Acrobat & Adobe Reader on Windows Server 2022

We have a VIP Select - Level 2 subscription. We are using the Creative Cloud desktop app, have installed Adobe Acrobat Pro on windows server 2022, and are using it as a terminal server. Half of our staff are not licensed (they don't need to edit PDFs, but do need to sign some) so they are in need of Adobe Reader, but I get an error when trying to install it on the server. Can I install Adobe Reader on a Windows Server 2022 (terminal server), while Adobe Acrobat Pro is installed?

Hi miguel_4615 ,

Please note that 64-bit Acrobat and Reader can't co-exist on same machine, they are part of single app installers, hence you are getting failure while trying to Install Reader when Acrobat is already installed.

For your use case, you can deploy 64-bit Acrobat as Reader mode, where Acrobat will run as Reader without asking user to sign in with an ID having a valid subscription. So free users can use Acrobat without signing in and will be able to use free functionalities while users with valid subscription can sign in and use the paid features.

More details at  https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Wizard/installoptions.html#suppress-sign-in

Thanks for your reply. Since i already have it installed, how do i go about surpressing the sign-in or do I have to uninstall/reinstall it on the terminal server.
