Adobe Acrobat App in Teams now not opening editable pdfs in Teams

Hi there,

I've installed the Adobe Acrobat app in MS Teams to use this as the default PDF reader within Teams. However, this now means that PDFs that are already editable are not opening - is there a setting/option to enable this?

Thanks for any help.

Mel

Hi @Mel30788448mg9h

Thanks for reaching out.

I've installed the Adobe Acrobat app in MS Teams to use this as the default PDF reader within Teams. However, this now means that PDFs that are already editable are not opening - is there a setting/option to enable this?

How did you know it's not opening the editable PDFs? Is there any error while opening the pdf files within MS Teams?

If you have downloaded the app and set it as the default pdf viewer, you can open the pdf files within it. Also, you can access all the tools available for Acrobat Web.

Please go through this helpful article and go through the details under Considerations and Limitations

Thanks,

Hi Akanchha,

Thanks for your reply. With the pdf file i was getting this error message

However, I think the problem I was having with the pdf not opening was down to the file itself - as I tried with a different editable pdf that I created and the file itself actually opened. However, the issue still persists for me in that the editable parts of the pdf (the form parts) still do not work when you open the document from within Teams using the Adobe app as the default. This is both when added as a tab and when opening the document from the files area.

Therefore, I'm assuming that this functionality - being able to complete form fields in a pdf document is not allowed within the Adobe app? I am able to complete the form fileds of the pdf document when accessed from OneDrive, just not from within an MS Team - it seems that to get this to work, you still need to download the document locally complete and re-save?

If there is an option to complete the form fields directly within Teams, please do let me know!

Thanks again,

Mel
